Student Theatre Arts Repertory Troupe (STAR Troupe)

During this two-hour writing intensive, empowerment to tackle the blank page will flow from a series of guided exercises. Students can come to this workshop with the seed of an idea for their play, or with nothing at all. They will be led through a sequence of writing exercises and games to begin their playwriting journey.

Stephanie Kyung Sun Walters 

Stephanie Kyung Sun Walters is a professional and nationally recognized playwright from Philadelphia, PA. She is also a Barrymore-nominated actor and devoted educator with over a decade of experience in both fields. Stephanie is the winner of Philadelphia Theatre Company’s 2022 Terrence McNally Award, the Lead Artist of the Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists Playwrights Project, and a graduate of Point Park University’s Playwriting MFA. She currently teaches Creative Writing at Haddonfield Friends School and Acting at Swarthmore College.

Putting Pen to Paper

Shiloh is a choreographer, educator and performer from Yosemite, CA. She earned her Theatre degree from USC, and then quickly began traveling the world! She has flown as the Little Mermaid over audiences in Tokyo, has lead a 200-person flashmob in Times Square, and has taught dance to children from the leprosy colonies in Southern India. Most recently, she made her Broadway debut in PARADISE SQUARE, for which she learned to Irish step dance! Other performing experience includes (Love Life, Encores), Off-Broadway (Anthem, The Screwtape Letters), regionally (Berkeley Rep, Sacramento Music Circus, Riverside, Bay St Theatre, Transcendence Theatre Co), on tour (Camelot), and in opera (Santa Fe Opera).  Shiloh has choreographed Cabaret, Spring Awakening, Aida, (Gallery Players, NYC) and Dance Nation (AADA).  She had the joy of associate choreographing for Public Theatre’s Twelfth Night at the Delacorte, Chess at the Kennedy Center, the world premier of To Wong Foo the musical, and The New World at Bucks County Playhouse. And she loves her students! She currently teaches dance and movement for actors at NYU, AMDA, and as a private coach for high school students.

Be the Broadway Dancer
with Shiloh Goodin (Broadway, Paradise Square)
October 26th 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm 

What is Broadway? It’s dancing and singing to tell a STORY! So join Broadway dancer Shiloh as we practice using our acting skills while dancing in Broadway-style musical theatre combination. Learn tips and tools to make strong character choices during a dance, even if you aren’t an experienced dancer! This class is for dancers AND actors who want to learn how to audition for Broadway. Class will include a mock audition combination, and feedback about how to use your storytelling skills to stand out and book the job.

Scene Study
with Melanie Anderson & Tara Novie
November 30th 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

This scene study workshop provides an opportunity for actors to develop their practice using scripted material, enhancing their ability to act from a deeply personal and freely imaginative place, bringing spontaneity and truthfulness to their work. Tools and exercises will be incorporated with scene work to develop the actor’s instrument and build technique. The scenes will be worked on in front of two acting instructors and a group of peers. The goal is to receive specific constructive feedback that helps the actor improve their craft and their abilities in specific roles. All materials will be provided.

Melanie Anderson

Melanie Anderson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pace University in NYC with a BFA in Musical Theater in 2007. Since then, she has worked in almost every area of the business, including acting, directing, casting, producing, choreography, costumes, lighting design and teaching. Her passion for performing started at a very young age and she enjoys the creative process within every facet of the business. She spent six years teaching high school theater arts classes in South Jersey before becoming a resident teaching artist for local performing arts studios. Her students were recently highlighted in the Emmy Award winning documentary "I Can't...I Have Rehearsal," and have been recognized by Bucks County Playhouse, Papermill Playhouse's Rising Star Awards and The South Jersey Theater Festival for achievements in high school musical theater.

Tara Novie

Tara has been performing professionally for the past 15 years, more recently beginning work as a voiceover artist and acting coach.
